Metalogic Migration Services:
Metalogic Systems provides an automated tool assisted solution to migrate applications built and deployed on older versions of RDBMS (Oracle/ Sybase/ Ingres) and their respective development tools to the latest ones.
The migration process is aimed at adapting to the latest in relational database offerings, a vastly improved graphical user interface as well as a modern client server or web based architecture.
With a focus on reusability of corporate software assets, Metalogic Systems helps its customers and partners to recover, modernise and reuse business processes and data models embedded in their existing applications. Metalogic Systems then re-architects and re-deploys them on a contemporary technology platform with a state-of-the-art user interface.
With a high degree of automation built into its services, Metalogic Systems ensures quick and accurate deliverables, thereby reducing project cost, time and risk significantly.
The migration process makes the following changes:
The data model recovered from the current application with older versions of any of the RDBMS Oracle/ Sybase/ Ingres is reengineered to generate DDL for the target RDBMS using the native data types of each RDBMS product, wherever required.
Partitioning of host-based, monolithic applications developed on Oracle/ Sybase/ Ingres tools to client server [2 tier] or web based [3 tier] architecture.
Provide a Graphical User Interface, Windows or Browser based, in place of character-based applications. The migration exercise could involve a simpler conversion of a Windows based user interface to a web based one.
The following diagram captures the above-mentioned features:
Service Portfolio:
Metalogic offers certain generic migration tools for all combinations of database and tools. These include:
Transformation of host based applications to client-server or web-based architecture.
Moving away from UNIX terminals to Windows based workstations.
Transformation projects from different legacy database applications to adapt to modern technology changes are classified individually, based on the source and target platforms.
